Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services grants initial approval for Indiana’s Statewide Transition Plan

On November 8, 2016, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) granted initial approval for Indiana’s Statewide Transition Plan (STP) for its Medicaid funded Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). The STP outlines Indiana’s strategies to align regulation and HCBS settings with the CMS settings final rule. The HCBS settings final rule, along with additional guidance and fact sheets, is available on the CMS Home and Community-Based Services website. Indiana’s STP, version five, can be found on the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) Home and Community-Based Services Final Rule Statewide Transition Plan Web page.

Additionally, CMS requested further revisions to the site-specific assessments within Indiana’s STP in order to receive final approval. Once revisions are complete, FSSA will give public notice and the sixth version of the STP will be posted for public comment prior to submission to CMS for final approval.
