AL Staff Stability Resources

INCAL's goal for 2017 is to focus on staff stability in assisted living. Each month, we will include information and resources in our newsletter about assisted living staffing, retention and turnover statistics and best practices. In order to find solutions or implement best practices, we must first review and understand the current issues affecting staffing in our assisted living communities. In the most recent Staff Vacancy, Retention and Turnover Survey, the report found that the 2013 median nursing staff turnover rate was 25%. There are 4 key strategies to retain new hires and reduce employee turnover. Those include:

2. Behavioral Based Interview Questions
3. Performing 30 – 60 – 90 Day Reviews
4. Walkabouts/Rounding on Direct Reports
