HIP 2.0 Amendment Posted for Public Comment

On May 24, 2017 the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration posted an amendment to the current waiver extension for the HIP 2.0 program that is pending before CMS.  The amendment to the already submitted waiver extension (quick facts here) focuses on 4 areas:

1. Establishing a Gateway to Work participation requirement for non-disabled working age HIP members.
2. Establishing Power Account income tiers so that POWER account contributions will be pre-defined tiers that are roughly equivalent to the 2% income level on each tier.
3. Eliminate the HIP Employer Link program due to lack of participation and burden.
4. Technical revisions aimed at helping the transitional medical assistance program, refugee benefits, and funding for Medicaid rehabilitation option.
