Indiana HCBS Update

This afternoon, IHCA/INCAL President Zach Cattell is providing comment to the Indiana Division of Aging concerning their Long Term Care Transformation Project. This project has also been called the Rebalancing Project, and the association has been engaged with the Division, the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, and the legislature on this topic for some time now. The opportunity to comment comes from House Enrolled Act 1493 that requires the Division to report to the legislature on five areas concerning Home and Community Based Services reform. The Division has taken this statutory charge and created these public listening sessions as well as a survey for consumers, individuals, case managers, and providers in order for these groups to contribute information for the report.  It is essential that IHCA/INCAL members be active in this process so our voice is heard loud a clear. Additionally, the Division’s contractor, Lewin Group, is hosting a stakeholder survey until August 11, 2017. The Division is hoping that as many persons as possible can take the survey, and within provider organizations all levels of employees are encouraged to participate. The surveys consumers, individuals, case managers, and providers are all attached, but in the survey tool itself you are directed to the specific survey you choose when you indicate who you are on the first page. Stakeholder survey responses will be summarized and placed on the LTC Transformation Project website.
