Next Level Jobs Indiana

IHCA/INCAL was recently made aware of the state's new NextLevel Jobs Indiana program, which offers two workforce training grant programs that may directly benefit your long term care employees and allow your company to access workforce training reimbursements.

We encourage members to visit www.nextleveljobs.org as soon as possible to learn more about these programs. The association will be sending out additional details to facility administrators and corporate human resources contacts as we learn more about the program's nuances specific to the long term care sector.

Workforce Ready Grant
The 2017 General Assembly approved funds for Indiana’s Workforce Ready Grant program to provide free training for working-age Hoosiers in the state’s highest demand jobs. These industries have higher median salaried jobs and are rapidly growing in Indiana. LTC-specific training grants are available for students enrolling at Ivy Tech or Vincennes and include Practical Nursing and Health Care Specialists (nurse assistant training can fall within this broader credit-bearing course work at Ivy Tech).

Employer Training Grant
Employers can also take advantage of the Employer Training Grant program from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. Employers in any high demand business sectors can be reimbursed up to $2,500 for each new employee that is trained, hired and retained for 6 months. There is a $25,000 cap for each employer and the jobs must be middle skill, high-demand and high-wage jobs that require more than a high school diploma but less than an associate degree.
